Help Preserve History

The mission of the foundation is to restore and preserve the home built in 1812 by Lieutenant Presley N. O’Bannon, United States Marine Corps. Our vision is that this hero’s home will become a venue for the conservation and exhibition of American history. Creating a place to learn, visit, stay and explore. Lt. Presley O’Bannon, USMC was the first American to plant our flag on foreign soil in 1805. The first stanza of the Marine Corps hymn speaks to his heroic action, “To the shores of Tripoli.”
